Pearlies

Ethan finally got his pearlies!! A bit Rather late I must say as it’s only 1 week shy of him turning 11 months old. I had sort of given up waiting for his teeth to sprout since 3 months ago…Well, we can’t really see it yet so I guess there’s more waiting to be done…

Goosh, it’s been really quite a while since I have last posted anything…Things had been crazy these couple of months…School, work etc…More updates to come along later. In the meanwhile, it’s my pleasure to post this up as it’s rarely that we get to take a picture together as a family…

Happy Birthday, Dearest!

It is Mister’s birthday today!! Normally we would go out for a meal together on our birthdays, but I doubt it be possible this year with the addition of Mr. Ethan and not to mention that baby had just recovered from a bout of flu…Oops…

We were talking the other day and hubs mentioned that birthdays are something that he no longer gets excited over as compared to his “younger” days…Not to say that he is very old now… I suppose that it is a matter of being the social circle growing smaller and you don’t really do much crazy stuff as compared to those days in school…Hehehe… Hence, the non excitement…Since we are not going out, I had asked my mum to get him a piece of roast pork a.k.a 烧肉 for dinner since it is one of his favourite food…

Once again, Happy Birthday, Mimi!! I hope that you are having a fine day at work without the crappy stuff. And No, you are not being excused from your usual chores and baby duties even though it is your birthday today…I love you, you know that…:P I hope that you would enjoy your roast pork a.k.a 烧肉 tonight. Stay funny!!

Wary of Strangers?

We had made plans initially to bring Ethan for a swim dip in the pool last weekend. But alas, the dipping didn’t materialise due to Lip having to work thru’ Saturday…Had to contend with Ethan’s companionship for whole day…My mum would always volunteer her time and services whenever Lip is not around as she is always worried that Ethan is getting too much for me to handle alone. Well, that is true to some extent now that Ethan is older, he tends to demand more of our attention other than meeting his basic needs of milk, sleep and clearing his poo. I’m quite glad and thankful that my parents are literally a block away so that I can hand Ethan over to catch up on my housework or simply to catch a breather.

I had a mini gathering at my best friend PZ’s loft on Sunday. Over pizza, chix wings, strawberries, cakes and durians, we managed to catch up with one another. However, I guess PZ is more interested in Ethan as she had been bugging me for the longest time to bring him for a play date with her…

Usually, Ethan would give his trademark smile to anyone who tries to play with him. However, that is not the case when we brought him to my in-laws’ place after the visit to PZ’s house. He reluctantly let my mil to carry him but would start to pout and cry if we are out of his sight. For my fil’s case, it is even worse…The moment he talks to Ethan, his mouth would pucker and cry almost immediately. It takes a long while for me to rock him to sleep as he seems to “dislike” the environment of my in-laws place. Maybe it is our fault for not bring Ethan up for weekly visits and hence my in-laws had literally turned into strangers in Ethan’s context…I guess my in-laws would be real upset if they had seen how happy Ethan is upon seeing my parents…Oops…I think we should really make more efforts to visit my in-laws more often and to let Ethan know his other set of grandparents better…

First thoughts

I’ve been wanting to keep an online journal for the longest time. Hopefully this time would not end up in a natural death like my previous attempts. I’ve always thought that it would be good to pen down my thoughts at that moment in time so that I got something to read and reminise about in years to come. The need to do so grew ever more since the birth of my son last December. I hope to capture all his developments and milestones in life least the memories fade away. Even though info may be lacking for the 1st 6 months of his developments, I hope to make up for it with the setting up of this journal…
